Clinical Psychologist

My Values

“I adopt a kind and compassionate approach within therapy, and I work with each person to create a safe, accepting and non-judgemental therapeutic space by being open and thoughtful about what people bring to their therapy sessions.

I am passionate about helping people to find ways to live the life that they want, which can include overcoming barriers, setting new goals, and finding out what is meaningful to them”

This is a quote that grounds my practice

"As you start to walk on the way, the way appears."

-Rumi

I take an integrative approach to therapy using models that are evidence based by the NICE guidelines which include:

    • Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT)

    • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

    • Trauma Focused CBT (TF-CBT)

    • Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)

My Experience

I am a Clinical Psychologist who has had the privilege of working across a range of mental health settings (mostly in the NHS) in the UK, including adult and older adult services, primary and secondary care services, inpatient services, as well as a specialist trauma service for people experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). In these roles I have provided individual and group therapy, as well staff support such as supervision and training.

I have completed training in several psychological therapies including cognitive analytic therapy (CAT), eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR), compassion focused therapy (CFT), and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). I also hold the view that there are lots of factors that affect our overall sense of wellbeing, and elements like movement, nourishment, connection and immersion in nature are all important factors to consider within any therapy process. I have completed the 200-hour yoga teacher training (YTT 200 hours) and training in trauma sensitive yoga (TCTSY Foundation Training).

I am trained to work with a wide range of emotional distress including anxiety, self-esteem issues, low mood and depression, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, difficulties within interpersonal relationships as well as problems that might not fit into a neat box or ‘label’. I specialise in working with people who have experienced trauma, including what is termed ‘complex PTSD’ and people who have experienced early life adversity.
